Young Cougars Look To Ravage Leigh

Under 20’s Match Preview by Joshua Chapman (@Chapalar)

Following the Family Fun Day 98-0 mauling off the South Wales Scorpions on Saturday, Dean Muir and his Cougars Under 20’s outfit will look to carry that momentum into Thursday’s fixture with the Leigh Centurions down at Cougar Park.

Exciting Scrum Half Ben Stead stole the show on Saturday as he registered 46 individual points in another Man of the Match performance which surely was off interest to Paul March who must be considering another first team run out after his two try Man of the Match performance in the Kingstone Press Championship defeat at the Leigh Sports Village in May.

The other positive to come out of the victory on Saturday will have been the return of Welsh International Craig Moss. The reigning Cougars Player of the Year made his first appearance in the demolition of South Wales since returning from injury and even though he did not cross for a try was certainly influential throughout.

With a decent crowd and the famous Jezza roar backing the Cougars on Saturday, they never looked like conceding let alone losing against a South Wales outfit who looked like Cougar Park was anywhere but where they wanted to be on Saturday. Sean Kelly, Jordan Aitchison, Danny Lawton, Chris Watson, Charlie Eccelston, Tom Courtney and Ryan Patchett all joining Ben Stead on the scoresheet in a dominant and impressive performance.

Under 20’s coach Dean Muir was in obvious buoyant mood following the thrashing of the outfit from Cymru and what he had to say can be seen underneath this article if you click the link.

The future of the Keighley Cougars needs your support with all gate receipts (£5 Adult, £1 Concession) going towards the side! So get down and support Dean Muir and the Under 20’s!
