Keighley Cougars are delighted this evening announce the signing of Will Milner on loan from the Featherstone Rovers.
The versatile youngster is a product of the academy system at Super League outfit Warrington Wolves prior to joining the Rovers following his release from the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Milner played regularly in the Rovers Reserves grade, including featuring many times in games against the Cougars, prior to be handed his first time debut last March in a Kingstone Press Championship victory away at Whitehaven by then Coach Andy Hay.
Will went on to become a regular in the Rovers first-team under current Coach Jon Sharp, making twenty-two appearances to date, including the Championship Shield Final victory over the London Broncos at Widnes in October, before being injured earlier this season in a defeat to Leigh Centurions in April.
Milner said on his arrival: “I’m delighted to come down here on loan, I’ve played here a few times in the past including ealier this season with the Featherstone reserves.
“I have a couple of mates who already play here, such as Adam Brook and a few in the reserves side also, so I’m looking forward to getting started and hopefully getting a few games.
“I’m quite a versatile player, my prefered position is stand-off but I’m quite a big lad and can play in the centres and the back-row if needed too but I don’t mind playing anywhere Paul March needs me too.
“I have massive experience already by playing around some of the boys over at Featherstone, most of whom have played in the Super League, which I learnt a lot from.
“But, I’m now at a stage in my own career where I need regular game time and Keighley have given me that opportunity so I’m ready to get going.”
Milner is sponsored by Charlotte Booth.
