Featherstone Rovers Travel Pack by Joshua Chapman (@Chapalar).
This Good Friday evening, the Cougars hit the road for a West Yorkshire Derby for the second successive week as we travel to the Big Fellas Stadium to take on freescoring Featherstone Rovers in Round Eight of this season’s Kingstone Press Championship.
PRICES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
A traditional style Rugby League ground, The Big Fellas Stadium has a clubhouse along with a roofed seating stand down one side of the pitch with another covered seating stand running down the opposite side. Over the winter, the club completed the building of two new covered seating stands, one connects to the stand running down the right hand side of the pitch with another situated behind the left hand side posts. Behind the other set of sticks, is the Post Office Road Terrace where both sets of supporters can mingle together for some friendly banter.
Once you go through the turnstiles there is a large spaced area in which you can find access to the clubhouse bar, refereshment kiosks, programme sellers and the Featherstore Club Shop where you can buy merchandise or your copy of the programme should a seller be unable to be found.
WHERE TO DRINK:
The ‘Rovers Pie Hut’ is located on the ‘Post Office Road Terrace’ overlooking the field, so there’s no need to miss any of the action while you tuck into Pie & Pies, Hot Dogs and snacks. Adjacent to the Pie Hut is another bar offering canned alchoholic drinks.
To the rear of the Main Stand is the ‘Rovers Cafe Bar’ serving a huge range of Hot Food & Drinks. Pie’s, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Steak Canadian, Chips and occasionally Jacket Potatoes with various fillings. Hot & Cold drinks are also available here including Bovril & Hot Chocolate. The ‘Cafe Bar’ also serves a range of canned alcoholic drinks for those crazy summer months!
The Blue Lagoon is situated under the SCS Components Community Stand and is an excellent venue for some local banter before kick off! Run by volunteers for the fans, all profits go to ‘FRISA’ for player & squad development. A full range of cold drinks are on offer and there are shirts and photo’s from across the decades to browse. The Blue Lagoon bar opens one hour before kick off and again during half-time.
The Atrium is the main clubhouse bar and offers an extensive range of drinks for your enjoyment. The bar shows Live Sports throughout the day meaning this is the perfect place to start your evening. There’s a number of small TV’s and a giant 12ft Screen, so no danger of missing any action here!
WHERE TO PARK:
There is a small car park located at the ground, however it is primarily for the use of home supporters and visiting disabled supporters only. However, there is plenty of street parking available around the ground and the surrounding area.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
The Keighley Cougars would advise supporters to not rely on the use of public transport in regards to travelling to this Friday evening’s fixture. Bus and Train services are running on Saturday times due to it being the Good Friday Bank Holiday, therefore there will be no train and very little bus services following the conclusion of the match.
