Time For A Change

Dear club sponsors, supporters, employees and volunteers,

Today I have given the club notice that I am stepping down as Chairman and Director of Keighley Cougars on 26th May 2018.  Having been the Chairman for 8 1/2 years and the major sponsor for 3 1/2 years before that I believe it is time for a change.

Managing Keighley Cougars is a demanding role and, given my other commitments, I fear that I will not be able to apply the best of myself to that role in the future.  There are other people who will be able to take the club forward and enable it to achieve what it, and the fans deserve, from the strong platform it now has.

In this transition time and for the rest of the seasons to come I urge all supporters to get behind the club and help it get to where it rightfully belongs.

It’s been an extreme roller coaster over the last 12 years.  Not every moment has been a good, or just, one, and some very distressing and sad, but it has been a rare privilege to have been your Chairman.  For that, I thank everyone who is, and has been, involved at the club during my time.

I wish the best of luck for the club in the future.

Gary

  2. I agree wholeheartedly , I have supported Keighley for 60 odd years and although the recent few years haven’t always been as successful as we would like , the club has been very stable and secure. We have also played some of the most entertaining rugby for years.
The current coach and team will gel soon and become a real force.
Many thanks Gary and best wishes for the future.

  3. Sorry to see you go, you have done an excellent job with little resources, I wish you all the best for the future in whatever role you chose to pursue, and hopefully we’ll still see you at Cougar Park in future.

  4. Gary, We have not met personally but you have replied to my comments on occasion, with dignity, knowledge and responsibility. You have discharged the requirements of the job in a great manner and you have clearly had the best interests of the Cougars at heart. You will be missed at the helm. Good luck in the future. TREVOR
