Nathan Conroy arrived at Cougar Park in October 2016 to become Craig Lingard’s sixth new recruit following his appointment as Keighley Cougars Head Coach.

A hooker by trade, Conroy, a product of the famous Bradford Bulls youth production line, made his senior debut in the final game off the 2013 Super League season as in front of the Sky Cameras, the Bulls defeated a weakened Huddersfield Giants side 58-6 at Odsal.

2014 brought with it more financial problems for the troubled Bulls with the club starting the season with a six point deduction which all but condemned them to relegation at the end off that season alongside the London Broncos but this didn’t stop the young hooker making a further five appearances for the club.

Following relegation, Nathan was tipped by many to come on in terms of his standing in the Bulls first team set-up, however, an influx of new signings brought in by James Lowes saw Conroy fall down the pecking order at the Provident Stadium and eventually leave the club to join the Dewsbury Rams on loan following a brief dual registration stint with Oxford.

Upon arrival at the Tetley’s Stadium, Conroy made 14 appearances as the club made the Championship Shield semi-finals, losing to London, impressing Glenn Morrison enough to earn himself a permanent contract with the Rams ahead of the 2016 season.

The hooker made a further 25 appearances as the Rams once again fell short in the Championship Shield, where despite a spirited semi-final display, the club were defeated by eventual winners and Conroy’s former club, Bradford.
