Emmerson Whittel


Emmerson Whittel arrived at Cougar Park in October 2016 to become Craig Lingard’s 8th new signing following his appointment as Keighley Cougars Head Coach.

Whittel, a Halifax native, joined the Cougars following a two year spell with League One rivals, the University of Gloucestershire All Golds.

Duirng his two season under the stewardship of Lee Greenwood, Whittel, a second-row forward, made a total of 46 appearances for the Goldern Fern, scoring a total of five tries following joining the club ahead of 2015 from the Bradford Bulls.

At the Bulls, Emmerson graduated through the academy system as the 2014 Under-19’s Player of the Year, being handed his senior debut by then Coach James Lowes in the clubs 36-46 Super League away victory against the London Broncos in the final game off the season after relegation to the Championship had been confirmed.
