Sheffield Eagles currently ply their trade at the Don Valley Stadium ahead off a temporary move to Bramall Lane, the home of Sheffield United, whilst the DVS is demolished as a part of the councils £50 million cost cutting exercises in the city.

The Don Valley Stadium was opened in September 1990 after being built to host the 1991 World Student Games and up until recently has been a profitable source of income. It is named after the River Don, which flows nearby the venue.

The Stadium has been home to the Eagles since it opened in 1991 and has seen many of the Eagles highs over the last twenty years. The Kangaroos Tour of 1994 saw the Aussies beat the Eagles 80-2 in the opening game.

The venue also was the home to the Eagles when they stunned the world to win the 1998 Challenge Cup and also was packed to the rafters in August 1997 when the Bradford Bulls clinched the Super League title in a fixture against the Eagles in front of a crowd of 10,603.

Up until recently, the Eagles have had to play a number of games at Bramall Lane due to Rotherham United using the Don Valley Stadium as their temporary home ahead of their move to the recently built New York Stadium last year.
