The Keighley Cougars can today confirm ahead of his departure to Australia that Josh Lynam has signed a one year deal with the QRL Cup outfit, Norths Devils.
Josh, a product of Cougars academy, made his debut for the club’s senior side on the opening day of the 2013 campaign as the team were defeated 42-10 by the Batley Bulldogs and went onto make 43 appearances, scoring 11 tries as well as featuring in this year’s Challenge Cup Quarter Final tie at the Widnes Vikings.
Following the end of this campaign which resulted in relegation for the club, Josh announced his decision to travel in Thailand before heading to Australia to ply his trade for twelve months despite interest from the Bradford Bulls throughout the year.
And today, on the day of his departure, he has announced his decision to join the Devils despite interest from the Burleigh Bears in the past few weeks, a decision which will see ‘Lyny’ take on Jason Demetriou, Sam Obst and Semi Tadulala’s Northern Pride who were crowned State Champions yesterday following a victory over the Penrith Panthers.
The club would like to wish Josh all the best in Australia and we look forward to a possible return to Cougar Park in the future.
