Cougars Look To Get Back To Winning Ways

Dewsbury Rams Match Preview by Joshua Chapman (@Chapalar)

The Cougars travel to the Tetley’s Stadium this Sunday to tackle Dewsbury Rams in the Kingstone Press Championship in this rearranged fixture following the original tie falling to the freak snowstorms which gripped the nation in March.

Paul March’s side are looking to get back to winning ways after falling to defeat at the hands of the Sheffield Eagles and Doncaster RL in the last two outings and will have to do this without key players Richie Barnett and Scott Leatherbarrow who are currently out with a broken ankle and an ACL injury respectively.

When speaking to Paul at the recent Northern Rail Cup draw he had this to say in regards to this weekend’s fixture: “Dewsbury is our game in hand on most of the sides above us and we have to target it as a game we can get three points from. The lads know how important staying in this division is to the club and we have to aim to do that.”

For the home side this Sunday, Dewsbury Rams, they are also looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last four games. Head Coach Glenn Morrison said “Keighley will be a strong team and they’ll be hurting after last week. They’ll want to get off the bottom of the table and they’ll come here fired up, but we’ll be confident ourselves.”

Dewsbury Rams pair of Dale Morton and former Super League winner, Kyle Pryce, both face late fitness test ahead of this weekend’s game against the Cougars and Glenn Morrison will be hoping both pull through in order to take on the Cougars.
