Keighley Cougars v Barrow Raiders Preview by Joshua Chapman (@Chapalar) in Association with A1 Stairlifts.
After making it two victories from two under the temporary coaching team of Paul Royston and Adam Mitchell, the Cougars will be looking to make it three from three against Barrow this Sunday.
The hard fought victory in Wrexham earned Lewis Graham and Jode Sheriffe places in the Championship Team of the Week and will give both a good chance of being in the thirteen come 3pm Sunday.
Graham’s position will be threatened by Richie Barnett, should the Rocketman recover from the car accident he was involved in last week. Jode’s chance of moving in of the interchanges will be helped as Scott Law (Shoulder), Sean Hesketh (Achilles) and Andy Shickell (Calf) are doubts for the fixture.
Ash Lindsay should have recovered from the leg knock he sustained against North Wales in order to feature against the Raiders and there could also be a recall for Ross Peltier after the man mountain missed out against the Crusaders.
For the visitors to Cougar Park this Sunday, Barrow Raiders, they will be out to avoid a second defeat to the Cougars after April’s Challenge Cup tie between the two.
Eight weeks ago, a Richie Barnett inspired Cougars got the better of Barrow in a high scoring 54-28 victory for the Cougars.
Bobbie Goulding has dropped the biggest hint yet he is ready to come out of retirement at the age of 43 and feature for the side he coaches after claiming he is up to match fitness standard after last weekend’s defeat to Dewsbury.
Goulding, the former St Helens star, has also indicated he is unsure of the seventeen who will be featuring this Sunday after revealing he is set to take advantage of the Salford Red Devils partnership to tighten up his defensive pack.
