Keighley Cougars are delighted to announce that Ritchie Hawkyard has become the 8th member of the current squad to put pen to paper for 2018.
Arriving ahead of the 2016 season along with brother Darren from the Swinton Lions, ‘Titch’ has cemented his place as first choice full-back as well as a firm fans favourite amongst the Cougars faithful.
Ritchie’s performances have been limited this season due to the horrific facial injury he sustained in Good Friday’s victory over Hunslet but since his return at Workington last month, he has been in explosive form.
To date Hawkyard has made 35 appearances for the club, scoring 21 tries, and was the Cougars top tryscorer last season with 16 tries.
His performances in 2016 also saw Ritchie take both the Supporters’ Player of the Year and Fun Bus Player of the Year awards.
The Cougars will be looking to make further announcements regarding the 2018 squad over the next month.
