Neil Cherryholme

Neil Cherryholme is now entering his fifth campaign with the Keighley Cougars since returning for a second spell at Cougar Park.

Initally joining on loan from the Bradford Bulls under the stewardship with Barry Eaton, Cherryholme more than played his part during the 2007 season as Eaton put in place the building blocks which eventually led to the clubs promotion 2009.

Upon his return to the Bulls, Chez never really broke into the side and moved onto The Shay to join Halifax RL where either side of a 2010 loan spell with the Swinton Lions, the Prop Forward played his part as Halifax lost the 2009 and 2010 Championship Grand Finals against Barrow Raiders and Featherstone Rovers before gaining revenge on Fev the following year to be crowned 2011 Champions.

Upon his return to Cougar Park under Jason Demetriou and then Paul March, Cherryholme established himself as a first team regular, coming off the bench to make his impact in many a game over the past four season.

Despite the tragic loss of close friend Danny Jones in 2015 away at London Skolars, Neil ended his 8 year try dought for the club with two in two games against the South Wales Scorpions and Newcastle Thunder with 2016 seeing “Young Neil” make his 150th career and 100th Cougars appearance respectively.
