Keighley Cougars can now provide a full injury update on Ritchie Hawkyard.
Titch was forced to leave the field in the 17th minute of our Good Friday victory over Hunslet RL following a clash of heads with opposite number Jimmy Watson, which left Watson with ten stitches and a concussion.
Hawkyard sustained numerous facial injuries and concussion following the collision and has now recieved the results of the X-Rays taken following the incident.
Ritchie has been informed he has sustained a break to his top jaw as well as a broken cheekbone and broken eye socket.
Hawkyard will now undergo an operation to put a metal plate into his jaw and cheekbone as well as having meshing placed into the eye socket to prevent his eye from dropping.
Titch has already undergone plastic surgery to repair the damage to his lip and gums.
At this time we can’t put an estimate on the time Ritchie will be out of action and all here at Cougar Park wish him a speedy recovery.
