Quartet Charged By Disciplinary

Keighley Cougars can this evening confirm four players have been charged by the RFL Disciplinary Panel following Sunday’s defeat to the York City Knights.

Josh Tonks has been charged with Grade D Strikes with arm following the late high tackle on York’s Connor Robinson that lead to him being dismissed in the 36th minute of Sunday’s game. Tonks does not have an Early Guilty Plea available to him.

This means that Tonks faces a suspension of anywhere between 3 and 5 games.

James ‘Buster’ Feather has been charged with Grade B Headbutt following an incident with York’s Adam Robinson in the 15th minute of Sunday’s defeat. Buster has an Early Guilty Plea available to him.

Brad Nicholson has been charged with Grade A Tripping whilst Hamish Barnes has been charged with Grade B Tripping. Both Brad and Hamish have an Early Guilty Plea available to them.

Grade B means Buster and Hamish both face a suspension of 1-2 games which can be reduced to 0-1 by submitting their EGP’s whilst Brad Nicholson faces a suspension of 1 game, which can be reduced to no suspension should he opt to submit his EGP.

All four cases will be heard by the RFL Disciplinary Panel next Tuesday evening at Red Hall.

So a York player is not disciplined for a left hook punch on a Keighley player seen by the majority of the crowd but not noted by any official?
This is krass abuse of decency and the referee should be suspended.

Without justice, this is a complete farce and the game was in my view (shared by many) a complete travesty and the overall score is also not reflected by a woefully inadequate referee who never seemed to see any infringement committed by York City Nights.

    One word.
