Keighley Cougars can this afternoon confirm Josh Casey has been handed a suspension by the Rugby Football League.
Casey was charged with a Grade D Dangerous Throw for a challenge on Joe Bullock in the 52nd minute of our pre-season defeat away at the Barrow Raiders earlier this month, a challenge which resulted in the centre being sin-binned by the match official, John McMullen, on the field of play.
A Grade D charge carries a punishment of a 3-5 game suspension and a fine with no Early Guilty Plea available due to the nature of the charge.
The Rugby Football League Disciplinary board met yesterday evening and have now suspended Josh for four games and handed him a £75 fine.
Casey pleaded not guilty to the charge after reviewing the video footage last week upon notice of the charge.
