Buster Joins Hunslet

Keighley Cougars can confirm that Club Captain James Feather has departed to join the Hunslet Hawks.

Feather has just completed 10 years of service to the Cougars, and was recently awarded a testimonial by the club.

“I’m really looking forward to a new challenge at Hunslet and working under head coach Barry Eaton again,” said Buster. “It’s going to be an exciting but challenging year playing in the Championship and I can’t wait to get started.”

Hunslet director of rugby Darren Williams believes that Feather will work well with Hawks’ coach Barry Eaton.

“We’re delighted to finally get ‘Buster’ to join the club, we have been long time admirers of his but it’s been hard convincing him to leave his home town club,” he said.

“Which is fully understandable given the commitment he’s given the club and the fact that he had a well deserved testimonial.

“He obviously has a great relationship with our head coach Barry Eaton who knows him well and James is excited linking up with Barry again and is looking forward to an exciting season under the new structure in the Championship.”

I have supported the team for about 58 years and during that time have experienced some huge ups and downs , this is however one of the worst incidents to befall our club ! In all those years Buster has been one of the most committed players we have had and has stood head and shoulders above almost everyone ,we really needed him to lead us back into the Championship. We must find and address the cause of this disaster as it is not just relegation that has caused him to leave . I wish him all the best for this next chapter in his career.

According to the website Buster has SIGNED for the 2015 season with the Cougars. How come he has somehow subsequently SIGNED for Hunslet despite having SIGNED for the Cougars? Can someone in authority at the Cougars please explain this to me, and in particular what does SIGNING actually mean?
